Last week I highlighted my faves for “staying in.” But, if have plans this Saturday; here are my top outfits for “going out,” no matter the occasion.
For me, V-day is little more than any other day with VNg. (Our tradition is to go out on 2/13. The first year we dated, I was out of town on 2/14. When we realized it meant avoiding crowds, those awful prix fixe dinners, and over-priced events – we repeated!)
This Valentine’s Day, we’ll be exploring the city, indulging in a Michelin star lunch, and treating ourselves to massages. For that, I’ll opt for a flirty but comfortable casual look. Enter: tee shirt, twist skirt, and loafers (silver!) I love this jersey twist skirt because it is flattering, soft, and a little more flirtatious than a regular mini.
If you and your date have plans that call for a little more style, (a wine lounge and a cool jazz bar?) I’d go for leatherette leggings and (again) hip flats. I am obsessed with these slip-on sneakers. (I like the perforated version.) I have a pair and they are like walking on air, but a little more elevated than a regular sneaker.
Or, if you are going on a full-on super fancy-schmancy romantic date: I am obsessed with this utfit. (Seriously, I have to find a reason to wear this.) I love the off-the shoulder neckline and the playful peplums. I know, I know – peplums are going out, but come on – this look is so adorable. The cinched natural waist is sure to make you look amazing. Shorts just take this outfit one step further and make it a little practical. Show your date you are a no-fuss easy-going girl!
I hope you liked today’s quick sketches in watercolor. And, I’d love to hear what you’re wearing for your V-day plans!
