Hi, everyone! If you’re on the East Coast, I hope you safely survived winter storm Juno. As for me, it was relatively tame in Jersey City and I was able to enjoy a productive and relaxing day home (including working on this post!)

After sharing my skin care routine, a friend requested I post about my make-up. Fortunately, my skin is good enough that I can keep a pretty low-maintenance system with few steps.

After washing my face, I apply a few of the steps from my skin routine. Then, I pat a light covering from my cc cushion. (Another great product from Korea; it evens skin-tone and helps with blemishes.) Next I put a bit of eyeshadow. I usually do a bright color across my arch and in the corner of my eye. Then, I put a natural pink or brown in the crease. Since I’ve been going to Physique57 most mornings, I like a compact palette. This one has great colors and is tiny and light. I like it because it has all the necessary basics for my skin-tone, but also has some fun sparkly choices (which I use when the mood strikes.)

I don’t always use blush, but when I do – I love Orgasm from Nars. The color puts an oh-so-subtle natural glow in your cheeks and has a minimal bit of sparkle.

Also optional: my application of eyeliner. Somewhere I read or heard that asians have oily eyelids (compared to non-asians.) This can be the reason why eyeshadow, mascara, and eyeliner tend to smudge easily and leave that awful raccoon look. I’ve spent a good amount of time researching the perfect combination and in conclusion I cannot live without this Stila eyeliner. It never rubs off. Additionally, I swear by my drugstore L’oreal Double Extend Mascara. It has the “tube technology” that wraps a “plasticky” extension around your lashes – only to be removed with warm water. I’ve tried everything from the expensive (DiorShow) to the tried and true (Maybelline Great Lash) to the obscure (eyeko black magic) and this is the only thing that works for me. It lengthens my lashes and doesn’t clump. Just be sure to toss it out when it’s old. Otherwise, it will clump together.

Oh, and, I do use an eyelash curler. I used to have the old Shu curler, but I recently tried this funky one and I love it. It doesn’t matter how wide or narrow your eyes are – since it doesn’t have ends – you can move it along your eye and get everything curled. Also, it doesn’t leave a gross crimp mark. (One thing I dislike is that the little pad falls out easily.)

Bonus: A co-worker recently tipped me off to blasting the curler with her hair-dryer for a hot second so it’s more effective. Be careful, though! Don’t do this for more than a couple of seconds otherwise it will be too hot and you can really hurt your eye!!

That’s what’s in my make-up bag these days. It’s a pretty good formula that takes me about 15 minutes to do it all. (Also, don’t you just love my funky make-up bag. A friend brought it back from Korea for me! It’s so weird. I love it.)

Please share any good make-up tips or favorite products you have!! And, thanks for viewing!
